Every student can thrive when they are met where they are, given the support they need, and have someone who truly believes in their potential.
My personal educational philosophy is grounded in constructivism, emphasizing that students build understanding best when instruction meets them where they are, and in Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development, which highlights the importance of targeted support to move learning forward. I also believe in fostering a growth mindset, where encouragement and belief in each student’s potential empower them to take risks, persist, and ultimately thrive.
Background
Educated and fully certified as an Elementary and Special Education teacher (and soon to add reading specialist), Mrs. A comes with years of experience in teaching children in all areas of special education and general education.
Certifications
Mrs. A is trained in both the Wilson reading program and Orton-Gillingham Plus reading program, in addition to being a fully licensed teacher.
Mrs. A is a certified tutor under the NCSEAA ESA+ Program.
